SlumberSource delivers and professionally installs hospital beds for home use in 4 to 11 business days across 48 states—faster than any other retailer in the country. Every bed includes optional white-glove delivery, in-home assembly, full function testing, and a hands-on walkthrough of all controls. After installation, you receive free lifetime in-home tech support for as long as you own your bed.

From the moment you place your order to the moment our technician walks out the door, here’s exactly what happens:

Step 1: Order Confirmation and Scheduling

After you place your order, our team contacts you within one business day to confirm details and schedule your delivery and installation window. We work around your schedule—not the other way around. If you’re coordinating with a hospital discharge, we can align delivery with your discharge date.

Step 2: Direct-to-Home Shipping

Your bed ships directly from the manufacturer to your home. There’s no warehouse stop, no third-party freight handoff, and no box sitting on your porch. SlumberSource coordinates the entire logistics chain to eliminate delays.

Step 3: Professional In-Home Installation

A certified SlumberSource technician arrives at your home during your scheduled window. Here’s what they do:

1. Carry all components into the room of your choice
2. Fully assemble the bed frame, headboard, footboard, and all mechanical components
3. Install the mattress and any accessories (side rails, assist bars, etc.)
4. Test every electrical function: head elevation, knee elevation, hi-low height adjustment, Trendelenburg (if applicable), and all motor operations
5. Walk you and your family through the hand control, bed positions, and safety features
6. Remove all packaging and shipping materials from your home

When a loved one is being discharged from a hospital or rehabilitation facility, timing is everything. The bed needs to be in the home, assembled, and tested before the patient arrives. A missed delivery window can delay discharge, extend a hospital stay, or force a family into an unsafe improvisation.

SlumberSource works directly with families, discharge planners, and social workers to coordinate delivery around discharge dates. Our 4–11 business day delivery window is specifically designed to meet the timelines that hospital-to-home transitions demand.

Preparing for Your Delivery: What to Have Ready

To make installation day as smooth as possible:

• Clear the room where the bed will be placed — allow at least 3 feet of clearance on the caregiver side
• Ensure a path from the front door to the room is clear of obstacles
• Have a dedicated electrical outlet accessible near the bed location (avoid extension cords)
• If replacing an existing bed, have it disassembled or moved before the technician arrives (our technicians install the new bed but do not remove old furniture)
• Have someone available who can sign for the delivery and be present during setup
• Plan for approximately 45–90 minutes for installation, depending on the bed model

Delivery Coverage

SlumberSource delivers and installs hospital beds across all 48 contiguous U.S. states. Alaska and Hawaii are excluded from our standard delivery program. Delivery timelines may vary slightly based on location and bed model availability, but the vast majority of orders are delivered and installed within 4 to 11 business days.

Return and Exchange Policy

Because our hospital beds are made-to-order medical equipment, return and exchange eligibility varies by product type:

Made-to-Order Beds (Most Models)

Custom hospital beds, hi-low beds, sleep-to-stand beds, rehab beds, bariatric beds, and therapy beds enter production immediately after your order is processed. Once production begins, these orders are final and not eligible for return, refund, or exchange.

Select Products (Case-by-Case)

For specific products and approved cases, we may allow an exchange or refund within 30 days of purchase. To qualify, the product must be new, unopened (sealed), and in the original packaging. You will be responsible for return shipping to the factory, and a 20% restocking fee applies. Refunds are processed after the item has been received and inspected.

Damaged in Transit

In the unlikely event your bed is damaged during shipping, SlumberSource will immediately coordinate a repair or factory replacement at no cost to you.

Mattresses

Alternating pressure, rehab, medical, bariatric, and therapy mattresses are not eligible for return or exchange due to hygienic reasons.

Financing Your Hospital Bed

SlumberSource partners with Synchrony Pay Later to offer flexible financing on all hospital beds. Payment plans range from 24 to 36 months, and you can prequalify at checkout with no impact to your credit score. Learn more about financing options.
